    Question FEH13 rainfall

    We've been asked by one of our clients to look at using FEH13 rainfall.
    As far as I can see, FEH13 isn't directly supported by ICM. The output from the FEH web site is a table of rainfall depths for a range of durations.
    The approach would therefore seem to be to take a FSR/FEH rainfall event of the required duration and scale it to match the total depth required.

    Is there any easier way to do this? Could future versions of ICM support scaling to a specified rainfall total?

    It is intended that FEH2013 will be supported in ICM 7.5. It is highly likely that use of this functionality will require access to the ReFH2 software with a license obtained from Wallingford HydroSolutions (WHS), in the same way this is done currently for the ReFH2 runoff model (added to the software in version 6.5). The reason for this is that the equations used in both FEH2013 and ReFH2 methods have not been published. It is possible for the ReFH2 software to calculate the FEH2013 rainfall profile from the new catchment descriptors. These can then be used within ICM as non-generated rainfall events which is probably the current best approach. Note also, that the calculation of Cini and BF0 are also different when using the new FEH 2013 rainfall.
