Infoworks ICM crashes if a layer is being used in another program

I'm using the latest version of Infoworks and it seems to crash whenever it tries to load a GIS layer that is open in another program (QGIS in my example). If someone else is using it from a common location and you're opening Infoworks it will crash before allowing to remove it from its list.

We've seen this before. QGIS creates a 'locking' file. These 'locking' files are not handled well by MapXtreme (the 3rd party mapping component within ICM). The 'ArcObjects' or 'ArcEngine' map controls should handle this better. Alternatively, don't use the same file in both software.
