Toolbar Layout Positions between Sessions in H2OMap Water 10.0 Update #5

After a recent upgrade to H2OMap Water 10.0 Update #5, the toolbars re-position themselves every time the software is started. Is there an option to save them in a particular position?

    Steve,

    Thank you for your question.

We just tested this in H2OMAP Water 10.0 Update #7 and found that when we moved toolbars around in the top area where the toolbars normally appear they were retaining the moved position after we had saved a model and closed the software and then reopened it. We did observe slight movement in toolbars not locked in position against another toolbar, but the movement was very slight. But toolbars that were moved next to another toolbar remained in position after closing and reopening. Toolbars even moved to the center of the model area (undocked) or moved to the bottom of the window remained in position as well.

Could you be able to update to the latest version and retest? It appears that this issue has been resolved in the latest version.

Link to download the latest update: http://www.innovyze.com/updates/down...date100007.exe

If you have any further issues or questions please send and email to support@innovyze.com and we would be glad to help you further.

    Patrick,

Thanks for your help on this. I had Update #7 installed after testing it on a spare machine, where it seemed to have solved the problem. But when it was installed on my PC, the problem persisted until we also:
    (1) Removed stale working temp directory files (which in our case were stored in C:\temp\Hwr4vdb\) and
    (2) Emptied the Temp directory at C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Temp\

This also solved the problem of the application bringing up an unneeded dialog box to check for updates each time it started.
Special thanks to Larry Simon in our IT Department for helping us solve this.

    Steve,

Glad this worked out. Thank you as well for posting the pathways you cleared that also helped to resolve the issue on your specific machine as well.

Periodically cleaning out the directory used for storing the model virtual database can be helpful especially when this directory gets large (roughly 1 GB or larger would be considered large). As the default location for the virtual database for many users is slightly different that what you posted I will post where many can find it although this location can be customized. Here is the default path for most users ->C:\ProgramData\Innovyze\Temp directory.

Also for other users who may wish to disable the update checker there are two primary options to do this
Simply chose the way that works best for you.
    Option 1:
The change needs to be made in Innovyze folder and (if it exists) in the MWH Soft folder as well.

This change will disable the live checker in InfoWater.

    1. Open your C:\Users\[your account name]\AppData\Roaming\Innovyze\INFOWR.ini file
    2. Change the Auto Check Update from the Auto Check Update = TRUE to Auto Check Update = FALSE
    3. Repeat for the C:\Users\[your account name]\AppData\Roaming\MWH Soft\INFOWR.ini file (if it exists)

NOTE: This same procedure can be used for our other products by editing the appropriate *.ini file for other platforms. Just be sure to check both directories noted above. Older computers may have both, newer computers may have only the Innovyze directory.

    • H2OWR.ini for H2OMap Water
    • H2OSM.ini for H2OMap SWMM
    • -> You can check and edit each file in this folder with a *.ini extension in a text editor.

    Or
    Option 2:

To disable the “Innovyze Live Checker” for all products:
Delete or rename the C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\MWH Soft Shared\MWHLiveCheckerC.exe file (like MWHLiveCheckerC-off.exe works)

Thank you again for following up as you had noted you would when I called you a bout a month ago to discuss this issue. I am sure other users appreciate your detailed responses as well!

Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance. We are always glad to help!
