    Lightbulb Updates to the InfoWater Fireflow Analysis Tool

    A new Innovyze blog has been posted that describes the changes recently made to the InfoWater Fireflow Analysis tool.

    One key change is that the Design Fireflow report no longer uses both the Critical Node 1 AND Critical Node 2 but now simply checks results using a single critical node to verify minimum pressure requirements are satisfied in the node search range, which makes the design report easier to follow and understand.

    As this tool is used by a high number of our users, we wanted to spread the word regarding the changes to the tool.

    Will these changes also applied to the fire flow module in H20Map Water?

    During a recent modeling effort it became apparent to me that the maximum velocity constraint and residual pressure constraint were not being applied simultaneously. It was necessary to have two sets of fire flow results for each scenario (one constrained by velocity and one by residual pressure), in order to determine the design fire flow. This is extremely cumbersome and produces a confusing set of graphical outputs for the report appendices.

H2OMap has not been updated yet with all of the recent changes to the fireflow report, but the issue you noted about the velocity checks not being applied in the Design Report in H2OMap has been verified by our team and has been passed on to the development team as an issue to be addressed.

    Please feel free to contact support@innovyze.com directly if you find any issues with features in the software as this is the best way to document issues for the development team and speed resolution of any issues found for you the user.     We just wanted to follow up and let you know the matter you raised was successfully resolved in the latest update of H2OMap Water (version 10.0 Update 4 for H2OMap). This version includes the resolution of the fireflow Design report and the velocity constraint issue, you asked about.
