    Question Modeling Hydraulics inside a Wastewater Treatment Plant

    Has anyone used InfoWorks ICM to model the hydraulics of influent/effluent flows inside a wastewater treatment plant? Specifically, this would include raw sewage influent through Headworks through Primary Treatment through Secondary Treatment through Advanced Tertiary Treatment then the outfall. The model would include aeration tanks, settling tanks, clarifiers, chlorine contact tanks, wet wells, valves, manholes, and pumps inside a Plant. In our Plant we have all our piping, valves, pumps, and tanks in a GIS Database (ArcGIS 10.2.1 and a SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Geodatabase).

    Just curious if anyone has used InfoWorks ICM for something like this? If not, what do you recommend for this idea?

    I've use IWCS for several WwTW's, not difficult and there's no reason why ICM shouldn't be as good. You may have to get information on head losses and/or head/ discharge curves from manufacturers of some of the equipment.
