    InfoSurge scenario datasets

What is the recommended way to manage surge settings when you want to run multiple scenarios in InfoSurge? I will be running 25 different surge scenarios and need a way to manage all the settings to ensure accurate and repeatable results.

Since there are datasets for demands, controls, etc., but no dataset for surge data, do you save a new copy of the model for each scenario? Or do you put all the settings in a spreadsheet and copy to the DB tables?

Thank you for your post. We have forwarded this feature request for additional scenario support for InfoSurge to our development team for review. We appreciate requests and suggestions such as this on ways we can continually improve our users experience with the software.

As for the best workarounds you can use now, generally our users find that either saving a separate model or in keeping copies of the few datasets in the surge tables that may change in Excel to quickly copy and paste may be the most practical options for you. The ease at which one can copy and paste items from DB tables in and out of Excel and the few tables with differences in Surge runs may make that the easiest to do in the short term while running models and making adjustments. This way any changes you make for things that don't change are already updated and you don't have to update multiple models. However, once all the runs are finalized saving them as different models with the final versions for deliverables at the end is often the most practical so that all the user needs to do is open that model without any copy-pasting which is often more practical for replicating results at a later date after the project is over.

    Thank you.
